BrandXR earns inaugural Fire Award from Orlando Inno
An Orlando business news outlet has recognized BrandXR as one of the more innovative businesses in Central Florida.
Orlando Inno, a product of the Orlando Business Journal, announced the recipients of its Fire Award, which is a list of 25 startups that bring "momentum to (Orlando's) innovation ecosystem, raising the bar despite trying times created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
BrandXR is co-headquartered in Orlando, Fla., and Ann Arbor, Mich.
"Landing on this list of companies is an honor," said cofounder and CTO Kunal Patel. "Innovation is at the core of what we do in XR. Also, coming off an important team retreat during which we more crisply defined our direction, it provides even more momentum to the company and our team."
Patel and cofounder Moody Mattan have spent several days this week in New York to learn under the tutelage of the company's latest investor, Morgan Stanley.
The roster of fellow 2022 Fire Award recipients includes Beep, which runs a fleet of autonomous taxis in the Lake Nona region as well as Limbitless Solutions, which has received world-renowned status ever since Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr. partnered with them to provide a realistic prosthetic limb to a child seven years ago.
The BrandXR team will be honored alongside other nominees at an April 28 awards banquet.
According to Orlando Inno, "honorees were selected from nominations and Orlando Inno's editorial team based on major milestones like overall growth, innovative ways of doing things, funding rounds, product launches and social impact."
